CASA Celebrates Ten Years of Service and Language Immersion

A dozen Woodberry boys arrived in Nicaragua on June 5, 2016, to participate in the tenth annual Woodberry Forest School Central American Summer Abroad (CASA.) Spanish teachers Raphael Sydnor ’97 and Jairo Rivera lead the program, which combines adventure tourism, Spanish language immersion, homestays, and service in local schools.

After spending a few days engaged in tourist activities like ziplining and visiting the active volcano on Masaya, boys divided up and moved in with their host families in Esteli.  Currently they spend their days working in three different rural schools.
