Frazier Stowers ’04 Named Director of Admissions

Frazier Stowers ’04 has been named Woodberry Forest School's next director of admissions.

While at Woodberry Frazier was a prefect and the recipient of the Sons of the American Revolution Outstanding Citizenship Award. He earned varsity letters in cross-country, track, and baseball. Frazier studied religion at Middlebury College, where he also completed a minor in education studies. At Middlebury he was a member of the varsity baseball team for four years and the varsity track team for one year. In 2014 he completed a masters degree in leadership at Georgetown University.

Since 2009 Frazier has worked at the Bullis School in Potomac, Maryland, teaching sixth grade language arts as well as ninth and tenth grade English. He has held a variety of administrative roles, currently serving as the upper school assistant principal.

“Scott Schamberger and I are eager to work with Frazier in this new role,” says Headmaster Byron Hulsey ’86. “He knows Woodberry Forest exceptionally well, and has deep experience in another fine school as well. He will be an exemplary ambassador for Woodberry and will help us reach prospective families and boys who will make us a stronger school in the years ahead.” As director of admissions, Frazier will represent Woodberry to potential students and their families. He will travel to meet with prospects, parents, and alumni and will oversee the selection of each entering class at Woodberry Forest.

“I'm excited to welcome Frazier to the admissions team and home to his alma mater,” says Scott Schamberger, assistant headmaster for admissions and college counseling. “Frazier brings a variety of independent school experience that will serve Woodberry well in his new role. With a proven track record of relating to middle school students and a deep love of the school, Frazier will be a great fit in admissions.”

Since 2005 Frazier has spent part of his summers working at Woodberry Forest Sports Camp, serving first as a counselor and, since 2007, as assistant director. He said that he relishes the opportunity to return to Woodberry Forest in service to a community to which he owes so much.

Frazier and his wife Meghan, who is also a teacher, will join the Woodberry community this summer.
