Fourth Former Competes in Jump Rope Trials

Andrew Hope '14 of Cary, North Carolina, travelled to Michigan February 18-20, 2012, to compete in the United States jump rope trials in his quest to represent the country at the FISAC World Championships. Since he first saw competitive jump rope at a halftime performance during a basketball game when he was only nine years old, Andrew has competed around the world as part of the Cary Superskippers and as a member of many teams all over the U.S. Last summer, he placed third at the World Championships in the Power event in which he performed "triples," requiring the rope to go under the foot three times per jump.  Since coming to Woodberry Forest School, Andrew has trained on his own, practicing daily to build endurance and perfect his routines.

Take a look at video of Andrew's breathtaking skill here.
