Summer in Scotland Program a Success

The Woodberry Forest Summer in Scotland group has returned after another fun and successful trip led, as always, by veteran Woodberry history teacher Steve Stancill '74 and his wife, Tanita. The group of Woodberry boys and girls from private girls' schools in the region stayed in a variety of bed-and-breakfasts and small hotels and sampled different types of foods and dining experiences....from pub meals to four-star restaurants. In addition to their studies, students participated in many extracurricular outings. Cultural and recreational opportunities included a guided mountain hike through ruggedly breathtaking Glencoe; horseback riding at Balmoral Castle; a theatrical performance and trip to the National Museum of Scots History in Edinburgh; a visit to a Highland Games competition; a guided tour of the Glenfiddich single malt whisky distillery; a cruise on Loch Ness and to the Inner Hebridean Islands of Mull and Iona; and exposure to Celtic music.
