Athletics - Tigers Taking it to the Next Level

Each year approximately a dozen Woodberry boys go on to play college sports at levels ranging from Division I to Division III. Here are what three Tigers who are wrapping up their undergraduate careers are doing now.

Golfer Peter Knade ’16 recently qualified for the Korn Ferry Tour, one step below the PGA Tour. Peter, one of the outstanding golfers in Woodberry’s long history of excellence on the links, had a distinguished career at the University of Maryland before going pro.

Maxwell Johns ’18 is continuing his college hoops career as a graduate transfer student at Duke University. Max, who graduated from Princeton University this past summer and was a four-year member of the basketball team there, has appeared in several early season games.

DeQuece Carter ’19 is in the NCAA transfer portal as a graduate student after an outstanding undergraduate career at Fordham University. This fall DeQuece tallied thirteen touchdown catches and more than 1,100 yards as the Rams went 9–3 and qualified for the Football Championship Subdivision playoffs.

If you know of other Tigers excelling in college or professional sports, email us updates at alumni@woodberry.org so we can feature them in a future newsletter!
