Summary
On Friday night we took the opportunity to recognize our three graduating seniors on the team: Alfred Hoak, Julius Davis and Ayrton Moncur.
After this celebration, with much help from Julius' mom, we kicked off an unusual lineup of events, starting with a mixed 400 Medley Relay. Our "A" Woodberry Forest and STAB team went on to win the event with Rawlings Leachman (Backstroke), Ayrton Moncur (Breaststroke), Grace Browne (STAB - Butterfly) and Bri Mason (STAB - Freestyle). In the middle of the meet, we started a race called the 50 Free shootout - where we started with 12 swimmers swimming the 50 freestyle, and then the top six fastest swimmers advanced to race it again and then the next to last race we had the fastest three swimmers from the previous heat race on to be the overall winner. This race is a fun and exciting race to watch and the swimmers have to be ready to swim their fastest in each heat to work to get to the next heat. With the last three swimmers racing, there was no one left on the pool deck sitting down, everyone was cheering!
On Saturday we were back at the pool ready to swim a normal High School event lineup.
