December Decision FAQs

Woodberry Forest has developed a new application process for this coming admission cycle called December Decision. The December Decision (DD) program is designed to assist families who need or want to make their enrollment decisions in December and January.

Who can apply for December Decision?
December Decision is open to all applicants (including international students) but is recommended for those who feel that Woodberry is their first-choice school.

Is there a difference in the applications?
No. The structure of the application and the required materials (recommendations, transcripts, etc.) are the same regardless of when you choose to submit your application.

Can I receive tuition assistance if I apply in the December Decision round?
Yes! You will need to submit your tuition assistance application and supporting documents by November 15.

When will I find out the admission decision?
All candidates who apply for December Decision will be notified of an admission decision on December 15. The contract is due January 15.

Is December Decision binding?
December Decision is not binding, but upon signing a contract, we do ask that you withdraw all applications to other schools.

What happens if I do not get into Woodberry during the December Decision round? Do I need to resubmit an application for Round 1?

If you are not admitted during December Decision, then your application will be consideredduring the Round One timeline. We’ll ask that you submit recent transcripts closer to the Round One application deadline of January 15.
