Government Students Visit Capitol

Dr. Fred Jordan's Honors Government scholars traveled to Richmond on February 9, 2015. They attended a hearing of the Senate Courts of Justice committee as it considered several bills related to the issue of sexual assault on college campuses, marking up the bills and hearing testimony from two rape survivors from the University of Virginia. Woodberry Forest School students can be seen in Richmond-Times Dispatch coverage of the hearing.

They also met with Myles Louria ’90, a lobbyist who talked to the boys about his profession; had lunch with Bill Hazel ’74, Virginia's Secretary of Health and Human Resources; and met Governor Terry McAuliffe. In the afternoon, students watched the House of Delegates in session.
