Photo Show Captures Patagonian Sabbatical

Wind, Water, and Ice: A Trek through Patagonia, a photo exhibition by math teacher Richard Broaddus, opens on May 13, 2014.

The show captures images of landscapes, cityscapes, and animals encountered by Woodberry Forest faculty members Richard and Karen Broaddus during their winter, 2013-14, hiking trek through Argentine and Chilean Patagonia. "It will be the reverence for the landscape and the ever present Patagonian winds that we will remember most," says the artist's statement, "that otherworldly moment when the granite face of the 'smoking mountain' reflects in the aqua blue of a glacial tarn."
