Medick '09 Earns Recognition in the FL Collegiate League by Baseball America

Spencer Medick '09, a current student at Polk State College in Winter Haven, Florida, was named one of the ten best prospects in the Florida Collegiate League this summer by Baseball America, the nation's foremost publication on amatuer baseball. A pitcher for the Sanford River Rats, Specer played for legendary manager Davey Johnson, striking out 28 hitters in 27 and 2/3 innings pitched and finishing with a 1.30 earned run average. Medick is spending this year at Polk State in an effort to transfer to a four year school to continue his baseball career. Currently, he is being recruited by, among others, the University of Maryland, the University of Central Florida, and Georgetown University.
