Cross Country Earns All State

Woodberry put on an impressive performance of depth on its home course with the top 5 runners finishing in the top 20 in the state meet and all earning all state recognition. Kevin Bennert finished 10th in the state and proved how much his hard work of running 450 miles over the summer led to a wonderful sophomore season. Josh Trudgeon and captain Arthur Bryant ran great races to finish in 12th and 13th spot for the Tigers. In only his second race of the season Max Anderson came up big with a 16th place finish. A team score is the top 5 runners and one of our Assist students, Georgi Klissurski, made a great stretch run to pass 3 competitors in the last 100 yards. This put him in 19th overall place and gave us a total team score of 70 points. I will let Coach Hale make the official announcement, but I would suggest that the Tigers won yet another state championship under one of the best high school cross country coaches in the country. Oh by the way we beat Episcopal with conviction!
