McCullough Roach to Participate in Sorensen Institute’s High School Leaders Program

McCullough Roach, a fifth-year student from Amarillo, Texas, has been selected to participate in the High School Leaders Program developed by the Sorenson Institute for Political Leadership at the University of Virginia.

McCullough was one of 33 students chosen from a record number of applicants to participate in the two-week U.Va. summer program, which offers concentrated study in Virginia politics and government. It aims to prepare future leaders for public service in Virginia, connects students with each other and with current government and nonprofit leaders, and promotes civic engagement.

In 2007 the Carnegie Foundation for the Advancement of Teacher recognized the High School Leaders Program as a national model for providing young people the skills and motivation to become politically engaged.
