    A Phi Beta Kappa 2024 graduate of Washington and Lee, Olivia serves in the science department as a Kenan-Lewis Fellow. At W&L, Olivia was a Johnson Scholar and double-majored in chemistry and English, played varsity basketball and track & field, served as both the Head Tutor at the university writing center and the head of upper division housing with the office of residential life. At Woodberry, Olivia teaches chemistry and lives in the Upper Dick Gym Apartment.

    Matt Blundin serves as athletic director and teaches mathematics.  He was appointed in 2016 after working for Albemarle County Public Schools as a mathematics teacher and as lead instructional coach and liaison for the school district’s athletic directors.  He holds bachelor’s and master’s degrees from the University of Virginia where he played quarterback and co-captain of the football team and forward and co-captain of the basketball team.  He played for two NFL teams: the Kansas City Chiefs and the Detroit Lions.  Mr. Blundin and his wife, Amy, and their sons Ethan, Cole, Luke '20, and Joseph '25 live in the Lewis House.

    Christal Boesen serves as the director of health services and Woodberry’s primary mental health counselor and educational testing provider. She joined the faculty in 2015 after working for Woodberry and other schools as a consultant and holds licensure in the state of Virginia. Dr. Boesen earned an undergraduate degree from Amherst College and a PhD from the University of Virginia. She and her husband, Matt, Woodberry's dean of faculty, live in the Class of 2007 Duplex North with their two children.

    Emily Boesen serves as the admission office information coordinator in the admission department where she primarily works in outreach to prospective families. Prior to coming to Woodberry, Emily completed her BA at the College of William & Mary where she studied Linguistics and Psychology.

    Matt Boesen is a member of the history department, director of faculty recruitment, and faculty advisor to the headmaster. He served as Woodberry’s dean of faculty for eight years from 2015 to 2023. Matt designed and currently teaches an upperclass honors course called Democracy and Dictatorship between the World Wars, as well as Woodberry’s third-form history course, Stories and Histories. Matt earned an AB from Yale University and an MA and PhD from the University of Virginia. He lives in the Class of 2007 Faculty North Duplex with his wife, Christal, director of health services and Woodberry’s primary mental health counselor and educational testing provider, and their two children.

    Bowen Borgeson serves as a member of the history department. He joined the Woodberry faculty in 2022 after teaching, coaching baseball and soccer, and serving as an award-winning head of a boys’ dormitory at the Hill School in Pennsylvania. He earned a bachelor’s degree in history from St. Lawrence University, where he played baseball, and a master’s degree in history from Villanova University. Mr. Borgeson lives with his wife, Kate, and their three children in the Haynes House.

    Donald Brewster, holder of the John T. Thompson, Jr. '95 Memorial Mastership, teaches Latin and operates the digital timing system for track and swimming meets. He has taught Latin at Woodberry since 1987. Mr. Brewster's passion for classical languages and civilizations was kindled by a year of study in Athens when he was a junior at Hamilton College, where he earned his BA; he subsequently earned his MA at the University of Georgia. He and his family live in the Shackleford House.

    Eliza Broaddus serves Woodberry as the director of donor relations. She has worked most recently at the Frank Batten School of Leadership and Public Policy as the associate director of development. She brings a wealth of experience from her time spent in the development community over the last ten years at the University of Virginia. Eliza has also served as the director of communications and assistant director of alumnae affairs at Oldfields School in Glencoe, Maryland. Ms. Broaddus holds a BA in English and creative writing from Hollins University. She resides in Charlottesville, Virginia.

    Henry serves Woodberry Forest as a science faculty member.  He spent four years at the Webb School in Bell Buckle, Tennessee, where he served as the school’s lead physics teacher and won a teaching award in 2022.   Henry is a 2019 Phi Beta Kappa graduate of Davidson College, where he won a scholarship for trombone performance and earned a B.S. in physics.  At Woodberry, Henry teaches physics and lives with his wife, Charis, in the Upper Dick Gym Front Apartment.

    William Browning '82 is Woodberry’s associate director of the Amici Fund and alumni relations. William earned a BA from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and a JD from Washington and Lee University. His career before coming to Woodberry in 2013 included practicing law and serving as director of development and public affairs at the Woodrow Wilson Presidential Library and Museum in Staunton, Virginia. Mr. Browning and his wife, Barbara Wimble, former drama and speech coordinator in the Woodberry drama department, live in Orange.

    Chad Bullock serves as a member of the faculty in the history department. He came to Woodberry from William & Mary, where he earned a BA in Government and an MA in Education. Chad started at Woodberry as a Kenan-Lewis Scholar and has attained an MA in American History from Gettysburg College. Chad and his wife Lizzie live in the C Dorm Tower Apartment.

    Aiden Burke '88 joined the faculty in 2015 as the school's technology network engineer. Mr. Burke holds a BS in industrial engineering and a BA in history from Lehigh University. He came to Woodberry from Klöckner Pentaplast where he worked as a system engineer and network administrator. He is the father of Patrick '16 and Brendan '17, and lives in Charlottesville with his wife, Mary Jo, a Latin teacher at the Miller School.
