    Ty serves the WFS faculty in the history department after spending two years teaching at Avon Old Farms in Avon, CT.  Ty began his teaching career at WFS as a Kenan-Lewis Fellow in 2016 and received a full-time appointment to the faculty in 2018.  At WFS, he taught in the history department, served as dorm head of Turner Hall, and led the Woodberry in Oxford program in 2017.  He earned a B.A. in history from Appalachian State University and an M.Ed. from UVa.  Ty lives in the B dorm-level tower apartment and serves as the dorm head of the Walker Building.

    Lewis serves as a faculty member in the science department.  He came to Woodberry as a Kenan-Lewis fellow in 2013-2014 and returned to the faculty in 2016, departing in 2022 to teach at Ensworth School in Nashville, TN.  He holds a B.S. from the University of the South in Forestry and an M.Ed. from UVa.  Lewis teaches environmental science and leads the environmental stewardship initiatives at WFS.  He serves as dorm head on Dowd House where he lives with his wife Anna.

    Amy serves on the faculty as a member of the math department. She began her teaching career in 2005, and has spent the five previous years at the Bishop’s School in La Jolla, California, where she has taught math and coached soccer, basketball, and lacrosse. Before Bishop’s, she taught for eleven years at two boarding schools, the Cate School in California and the Hotchkiss School in Connecticut, as well as a year in Vietnam and a year in France with School Year Abroad (SYA). Amy earned a BA in mathematics from Bryn Mawr, where she played varsity basketball and lacrosse; she also holds an M.Ed. from Harvard’s Graduate School of Education. Amy 
    lives in New Faculty House #2 with her husband, Nick, and their two children, Axel and Lily.

    Mandy Alexander serves as the director of the international students office for Woodberry. She arrived on campus in 2011 after she married her husband Ryan, who is dean of the third and fourth form. For the first six years while at Woodberry, Mrs. Alexander worked in marketing and communications for InScope International, a technology services company in Reston, VA. She received her BA in Spanish from Davidson College and an MBA in 2014 from the University of Virginia's Darden School of Business. Mrs. Alexander lives with her husband and their three children in the Bowman House.

    Ryan Alexander serves as co-dean of the fifth and sixth form and coaches bengal football. He came to Woodberry in 2010 as an English teacher from the Washington, DC area, where he worked for a nonprofit organization focusing on political, policy, and campaign consulting. A graduate of Davidson College, Mr. Alexander also played professional football in Germany. In 2019 he received his MA degree through Middlebury College's Bread Loaf School of English. Mr. Alexander, his wife, Mandy, the director of the international students office, and their children live in the Bowman House.

    John Amos, serves as Woodberry's chaplain. A lifelong resident of Orange, he taught for twenty-four years at St. Anne’s-Belfield School in Charlottesville before coming to Woodberry Forest in 2008. Mr. Amos earned a BA from the University of Virginia. He is also a freelance writer and the author of a collection of essays, Every Now and Then. He and his wife, Betsy, a librarian, live in Orange.

    Makhail Anderson '19 serves as assistant director of admission. He holds a bachelor's degree in English from Wofford College. Most recently he was a public relations intern at the Southern Maryland Minority Chamber of Commerce in Waldorf, MD. Makhail lives in House E and does dorm duty in Walker.

    Jason Arnatt serves as Woodberry's Associate Network Administrator. He came to Woodberry in 2016 from Gannett Company, where he was a senior application analyst. He holds bachelor's and master's degrees from McDaniel College. Mr. Arnatt lives in the Route 15 House with his wife, Laura and their two children.
