Pump It Up

With the start of every school year comes changes and new ideas. One of the new additions at Woodberry this fall is the Woodberry Beats and Production Club. Created by Will Trimmer ’25, Colin Neary ’25, John Watson ’25, Eli Simmons ’25, and Jake Haynes ’25, the club exposes students to electronic music production and DJing.

The club received significant interest, with 65 students signing up at the club fair in the first week of school. To support this interest, the club plans to purchase several new DJ boards, which will allow members to use professional equipment during meetings.

“Having more boards will allow multiple people to practice at the same time,” said Neary.

The club’s debut event was a performance at a school pep rally in the wrestling room. “The atmosphere was great,” said Haynes. “It was cool to DJ in front of the entire school.”

Looking ahead, the club plans to play at other pep rallies as well as school dances. “We hope to also have events off campus,” said Trimmer.
